Well for cars that are simply daily drivers and NEVER see the track... why would someone mod it to do anything more than that person bought it for - normal, everyday driving. Everyone is different.

I do agree with you though, I wouldn't lessen the performance of a "performance car". If I had an M3 it sure as hell wouldn't look like my 330... which I bought to just be a daily driver. I think it's a waste to do performance mods on a non-M unless you go all out.

Those words may come back to bite me if I do ever get an M

Although it does look really good, I have to admit. Just not something I'd ever do.

Yea you say that but when you have guys driving STI with 18 x 10s on 225 or 215 and car make a u turn because the tire unseats... thats a problem.... i say this because i watched it happen when we were driving to Wekfest TX. It was dumb.. i mean it was a low speed u-turn at that.

Either way i love some cars and some cars i think just push it too far and it doesn't work.

My Ride: rubs tires
If a 225 on a 10" unseats on a U turn they aren't running enough air. I can drive my car pretty hard and I haven't unseated a tire yet. And that's with a 225/35 on a 10".

Now that my car fitment is finished, I do miss the handling. Although, I feel like my handling went to **** after I raised up the rears. The back wants to swing out in every turn, I don't feel planted anymore. (Felt the same with my 19x8 DPE's) If I can go lower in the rear without rubbing when I carry passengers, I bet my car would handle great. I have racing dynamic sway bars set to stiff in the front and medium in the rear, I'm going to try to stiffen the rears to hope reduce the roll over in the rear.

Call me crazy but my car felt much better slammed.

My Ride: IR M3 Vert.
need more of that blue prefacelift with the 7 series mesh wheels. NOW!!!!

As for the decreased performance, well, the average driver cant drive these non Ms at 8/10s of the CAR's capability, so i know the M3 drivers, MOST cant go 7/10s of the CAR's capaibily, so dropping that limit so you can look sick when parked as well as sitting in traffic, isnt that big a deal.

The guys that track their stuff, usually have dedicated wheels, or just arent that low. Since most of these Ms barely see a twisty back road, and live in the city and suburbia, it doesnt matter that their performance is reduced now is it?

As a plus, when it was at a normal height with tires well under the fender and not stretched, i drove faster, got more tickets. Now lowering it and having stretched tires, im constantly thinking, i dont want a new pothole to bend my rims, so i relax and turn up the stero and drive slower. Guess what, havent had a ticket in yeeeeaars now...

I get my speed fix at the track with my scooter, im content looking low and slow. Hopefully if i get a M3, i will not start being lead footed again.
