If your going to just put it in the gas tank...

you should try BG 44K instead. Its a stronger version of seafoam apparently.

Could be MAF related. Why not try cleaning it and resetting the code?

Why not just put it where it should be.

1/4 bottle in crank case breather
1/4 up through the brake booster line
1/2 in the gas tank

I did it in my tank. Didn't notice a thing.

My boy has a stronger better thinky that he used on my pathfinder, he says only dealers can buy it, its not sold to the public. That thing hella cleaned out my pathfinder, power, response and mileage all improved noticeably.

If he can ever remember to get it we're gonna give my 3er some.

MM interesting. I'll try seafoam in the gas tank and let you all know.

Should I put the full can in? Or just half.

I've tried Lubro Moly products and noticed a slight difference - I think...

Yup. That was the ticket.

On the plus side, I eBay'd a $25 obd tool. Should save me an hour of my time going to autozone the next time the light comes up.

i did this just now 1/3 through the vacuum hose and rest in the gas tank
although my car has 180,000kms and this is the first time i've done seafoam
it only puffed out a big smoke briefly when i drove at 5k rpm
and engine light was on for about 5 min. while driving
i think the car is slightly smoother overall

seafoam help

i bought a can of seafoam after reading the great results from other fanatics....i put 1/3 in my gas tank already but i want to try it in the intake manifold.....i was not exactly sure where the intake manifold was...i was thinkin it was that big hose that connects itself to the back of the air filter housing but i didnt wanna take a chance....i also wanted to know if i pour it in if the engine is running...of course the seafoam website is no help....but if someone can give me a step by step on how to do this and exactly where the intake manifold is i would really appreciate it....

Seafoam experience, # 2

hey guys over the weekend i tryed out the seafoam, i gotta say i was sorta scared and iffy, i pulled the trigger and did it, i followed this DIY ,http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...ht=seafoam+diy.

i followed every thing the DIY said but i did some stuff different, Rusults: smooter running engine, smooter idling, some more power on the high end RPM's, i cant say that it feels like a brand new engine like others have, i guess my engine wasnt really dirty considering that i only had smoke coming out for like 2 minutes,( my father was pissed as hell) lol, everyone passing by was looking with theyre eyes pooped wide open. The engine just feels much smoother and i would recomend everyone doing this, dont be afraid just take your time follow the DIY and do it, its common sence, Okay there are some things that i did that i though is better from the DIY above. So for 30 min i tryed removing the booster line, waster of time, remove the whole thing meaning the plactic part on the end of the line, DO NOT reomve the clamp, you dont need to, remove the whole thing, after that i poured in the liquid into it, there is so much sucktion that you will not miss it, it sucks it in really well, So dont remove the clamp, remove the whole thing, second, what i did was i removed the intake tube instead of removing the small little tube on the tube of the intake, i removed that and covered my MAF sensor with cloths so that i dont get over spray on it, some people have stated that after doing the seafoam theyre MAF whent bad, thats why. so just spray it in the intake tube and your fine, (with the deep creep) with the other half of the liquid i poured it into the gas tank, after spraying my intake i had a light come up in the cluster, is was a yellow gear sign with a exclamation mark in the middle, i got freaked out, i turned the car off and turned it back on it went away, , took it for a test drive, felt much smoother even on reverse, so there you have it, everyone needs to do this, i changed my oil the next day after 50 miles.

I let the engine suck the seafoam into itself.. By pouring the seafoam through the brake booster vacuum line. This lets the saefoam to be pulled into the engine and ontop of the valves at a much higher concentration and will produce better and smokier results....

Seafoam vs Chevron Techron

I've been reading a lot about both of these fuel system/engine cleaners, and I can't seem to find conclusive evidence regarding which is best. What do people suggest? I intend on doing one or the other at some point in the near future, but I can't decide which. (Although I'll probably just do a pop-&-dump kind that goes into the gas tank, seeing as using these products in your brake booster hosing apparently requires an IV drip-type apparatus)
