i just ordered 3 red lights for my idea for the head. ill be working on it this weekend but im running into an issue finding balsa wood that is a big enough sheet for the ears. I keep finding ones that aren't wide enough.

Yeah im thinking i might have to. time is running out. only thing is that it has to be really light and strong enough not to bend or break.

yeah i'm definitely making one of these for the halloween madness in Santa Barbara.
for those looking for balsa, i recommend going to any local r/c hobby shop(its gotta be one with planes). i know i can pump these things out pretty easy, i'll make mine some time next week(this doesnt seem like much more than a couple hour project), if i can make them quick enough i'll sell them, and if you wanna pay extra i can even make the ears carbon fiber! haha also i'm doing mine with one of the t-qualizer shirt things in it like that video, http://www.tqualizer.biz/ my only concern there is a reduction in the visibility.. but i'm sure i can make it work. there's other places where you can get those shirts for alot cheaper, but i don't like the green/red ones as much as blue and red. also some more advice for those doing it themselves, some 3m spray 77 works wonders for applying the fabric.

2x 12"x12" sig light ply from the hobby shop i used to work at.
so i got most all the supplies today(minus the fabric for the mouth and the equalizer thing) this project is coming out pricier than i thought. Beverly's: 1yd@ 19.99 black velvet fabric. 19.99 Beverly's: 2/3yd@8.99 orange felt fabric 5.93 Beverly's: 4" styro ball 3.49 R/C hobby shop: 2x 1/4"x12"x12" lite-plywood 8.38 home depot: white hard hat 6.97 petco: 13" "mega run about ball" 29.99 total: $64.76 i probably could have also gotten the see through fabric at beverly's, but i'm gonna wait till i get the equalizer thing first for the mouth to decide if i'm going to go with a mesh wire thing or a see through fabric.

band saw, then following up with a belt sander, you could use a sanding block too. there's actually not much cutting(but alot of sanding), the ears are pretty large.
