Spring choice with Koni FSD

I am planning on replacing my whole suspension in the next few months considering it has 80,000 miles on it, and my bushings are making noise. There would be no reason to replace all of this with oem since my goal is for an inch to and inch and a quarter drop and stiffer ride while still retaining comfort. My shock choice is Koni FSD because if their claims are really true then I think it is perfect for me. My question lies in the spring choice. I trust H&R products, but everyone seems to use Eibach springs with the FSD. Can I use H&R touring springs with the FSD, and what are the pros/cons of each. Thanks to all who contribute your knowledge and experiences in helping me make a good decision.

I would recommend the Eibach pro-kit springs as well. We have the Koni FSD & Eibach combo available here if you're interested.

Koni/Eibach combo is a great choice. Pretty comfortable yet sporty. I can help you out with a set. Let me know if you need any help.

Gabe, the link you put above seems to be for the E9x. Your E46 suspension page doesn't show any Koni FSDs, only the adjustable.

Is the FSD available from ModBargains? Part numbers 2150-4005 for the combo kit and 2100-4005 for the shocks only set.

Yeah, I ran into that same issue when I looked on that page over 2 weeks ago. ModBargains did tell me they in fact have Koni FSDs for our E46 BMWs, but I would've thought they'd have fixed it by now and show it on their page.

How do the Eibach springs compare with the OEM sport springs are far as ride height?

Since i put suspension and 19s on at the same time, i cant give a definite answer. But my best guess is 1.25" front .75-1" rear

Has anybody used H&R springs (race or sport) with the FSDs? Is there a specific reason Eibach springs are sold with Konis, I would think it's more a marketing thing than a performance thing.

The FSD were designed to work with stock springs and so the Eibach pro-kit springs would be the closest. Thus it's usually coupled with the FSD. As far as I know it's okay to run H&R springs with FSD but not too many people do so.
