**help no sound **
i just installed an aftermarket radio but im gettin no sound im wondering if i got to do somthing with that wire that says amp everything else works it power up n everything but no sound out da speaker is there a factory amp also if it helps my car is a 99 328i

there should be a factory amp in the trunk left side behind the carpeting, but i believe the stock BMW HU's have an unbalanced output, which would lead me to think the amp would need to see the unbalanced signal to operate, and an aftermarket unit probably isn't. not 100% sure about that though.
did you use an adapter for the stock wiring harness? Quote:
