That's because ZMA increases REM sleep. Remembering those "vivid" dreams the next day is a sign it's working

What exactly is it? Why do you take it? Does it help you feel more awake the next day?

ZMA = zinc monomethionine aspartate, magnesium aspartate, and vitamin B-6. Click the link to read up on it and it's benefits. Yes, you can feel more "awake", if you have a good nights sleep, you should feel a bit more refreshed the next day.

This is one of the few things I take every day (actually I just take zinc and magnesium) but yeah, it is great. Re****l sleep, good dreams, etc.

Something like 97% of people are deficient in magnesium and its cheap. Kind of a no brainer IMO.

You live in MI so you know how some winter days can drag. These make me feel so refreshed in the morning. I put my head on the pillow, dream some crazy stuff and wake up without interruptions.

Do these need to be cycled? Why didn't you take the full ON ZMA?

I dont cycle it. ZMA is a lot more expensive than just buying magnesium and zinc. I've heard some stories that whole ZMA blend is somewhat of a sham and you get the same benefits from taking the magnesium and zinc independently.

I will research into the sham part. Thanks

A little anecdote: I use ZMA every once in a while when times are demanding and I know I will only be getting 5-7 hrs of sleep. It's great, for the first week I got really vivid, explicit dreams where I wish I would just keep sleeping. I felt so refreshed in the morning, like I just slept for 4 days and woke up eager to start the day, sans caffeine. It's great stuff, well for the most part.
I would continue to use it everyday, however I have had 2 episodes of hallucinations, both times about 45 mins after taking ZMA lying in bed. My head felt like mush, and felt like blood was squirting around in my head aimlessly. When I would open my eyes it seemed like there was a poka-dotted checkerboard in all of my vision. I tried taking ZMA during the day, say noon, but the feeling of re****lness was negligent. I suppose I still get the zinc and magnesium, but not the same effects. Maybe I am sensitive to the mass quantities? Just a heads up to those who have not tried it.

I take ZMA.

I used to buy Solaray Zinc/Copper... this just makes it more convenient to get Zinc, Magnesium, and B6 at the same time.

I'd only see myself saving possibly 5-10 dollars if I were to buy Zinc/Magnesium/B6 separately. Not worth all the containers and hassle IMO.

What does the B6 do? I dont take that part. The savings can actually be pretty significant. Depending on how much you take I bet I save $100 a year buying Zinc / Mag vs. ZMA. Could be wrong though.

Plays a key role in the production of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. It is used in the creation of DNA. Itís involved in over 100 crucial chemical reactions in our bodies. It helps form nearly all new cells in our bodies.

Food sources of vitamin B6 include fortified cereals, beans, meat, poultry, fish, and some fruits and vegetables.
