Low pass converter.

Just wondering if I need a low pass converter? Going to replace front components and put two 5.25 mids/subs in the back and remove OEM amp.. and put a new 4 channel a/b 75 per channel amp in the back.

Do I need a low pass converter?

Without a new Headunit, yes u will need a hi/low convertor. Splice a wire to one of ur speakers and hook the hi/low to it and from that to ur amp/amps. Get a really good hi/low because cheap ones will give u distortion.

I am confused? I will be removing the OEM AMP and Speakers and repalcing everything except head unit. DO you mean I attache HI/Low converter to headunits output?

You should get a ven4. Read the E46 stereo saga.

high/low converter takes your speaker output wires and turns them into RCA's, better signal and cleaner install

If you are going to remove everything but the HU, u still have to find some kind of source signal. I believe you would still have to find a speaker wire and tap into that.
