2017 Inspection Law

What's going on fanatics.

I found out that, as of Jan 1, you will no longer be able to pass inspection having tints. I know there is a legal limit of 70%(which nobody gets on their cars).

I was just about to throw tints on tomorrow but don't wanna bother unless I have a "guy", and maybe someone on here does... (pm me)

I call 3 random shops around in NYC and all confirmed that there will be new machines that will measure % of tints for you to pass. Even though you can probably just measure any window with a legal % and say its yours.

Happy new year!

Yep it pays to know someone who owns shops. Where in NY are you? I know a few people in queens who already are giving bypasses.

Know someone? All the shops in jerome dont care about tints or brakes or anything. If the obd2 passes for no engine light, you are good to go.

There is no extra fee. THEY DONT CARE! they only care about the obd2 test passing. I just had mine done last week and the dude checked off all "visual" inspections without even looking at my car.

I thought that too and have been told that it's for all front windows.
