Criticism is the only way that you can get better. Don't hesitate to post something cause you think that something JJR posted looks better. Post pics, post recipes, let people critique them. I cook for people any chance I get. Parties, BBQs you name it. Once you get comfortable in your style there is no limit. I know it's the pot calling kettle black cause I've been way too lazy to post on here but I'll try to keep up a little more.

Find a cuisine that you like to eat, and explore the flavors. Nothing wrong with making something that tasted like sh!t the first time.

I don't spend anytime on plating food or making it look in anyway "pretty". Right now I've been focusing on depth of flavor and textures and making everything in recipe from scratch. I'll pay someone to make it look good when the time comes.

Lol it was kind of a joke... I've posted a few things here and there and am well acquainted with the food/wine community

But yes I agree, people should post more and use JJR's posts as motivation and education, me included.

lol if you go back a couple pages, i said the SAME exactly thing to solly as far as... who gives a flying shiit what the dish looks like... given the ingredients used and the fact that the dish still looks great, doesn't mean jack shiit as far as looking "pretty"

as you all can tell.. i absolutely love food, wine, and cooking... i seriously am so happy that there is a food forum in this website because everyone here are just straight up awesome people for the most part, and the more people that contribute the more i'm happy and get enthused to contribute more.

there is never ending knowledge to learn with cooking... so don't think that i don't look forward to trying other people's recipes even if it "looks" like a normal plate of food... i still need to try solly's dish and a few others now that i think about it

JR, I agree with you about the subforum, it is pretty awesome. That's seriously why I will start contributing more... I will admit, I am too much of a booze hound to really appreciate wine though.

OK ignore the plate... again I cook for myself unless the woman isn't in school or at work...

Marinated/spice rubbed turkey burger - (starting bottom up) iceburg lettuce, grilled slice of vidalia onion, turkey burger, swiss, thick cut smoked turkey bacon, sliced avocado, russian dressing on an english muffin.

Chili anyone?

not really true. We're actually disgusting that in the health section.

Plus I eat breakfast at 730, a lunch at 11, a lunch at 2:30, and a pwo shake around 7, and another meal at 830 or so and a casein shake before bed. I'm constantly eating and nothing changes. All my meals are a lot of meat, usually around 8 oz or so, half a can of beans, and half a bag of frozen veggies.

Did you use like dried cranberries or cranberry juice? If juice, how does cranberry juice reduce? Is it still pretty tart or does it balance out?

In all seriousness... my friends plates were hideous so the only thing white was the cutting board where the knife happened to be
