So I broke something when installing my intake..

hey guys, i was installing the K&N FIPK when I broke some kind of hose. It is the piece that connects on top of the intake tube, and has 2 hoses connected to it. it was giving me a hard time when i was taking it out of the stock tube and pulled too hard. the bottom hose broke off.

can anybody tell me what it is and if its safe to drive with it broke for a bit? ive already gone like 70 miles with it broken...will take pictures later if you guys dont know what im talking about, thanks.

Sounds like the crankcase ventilation hose. If so, you should be fine, just don't wait too long.

so i dropped by BMW, and its this piece

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...07&hg=11&fg=45

the piece that broke is just that small little elbow piece that has a line connecting to the intake tube. but the dude said they only sell the whole god damn piece.

does ANYBODY have access to a junkyard or anything? all i need to do is like cut the tubes around it and take it out. he thought it was strange that i have no symptoms though, car runs perfectly fine. and holy crap at that price. even the wholesale price at bmw was like 115 or something.

the assembly is over 100..ridiculous price.

crazyafghan, can you take a picture? im not understanding how you ziptied it tight...to be clear, the plastic "male" end of the vacuum piece broke off and is still in the rubber hose. how would i attach that rubber hose to the plastic piece with a ziptie when they attach perpendicularly?

Anyone know where that smaller hose on the broken part of the elbow goes to? Looks like some vacuum lines were routed wrong on my car and I'm beating my head in trying to figure out where it ends up.
