frame damage is no good...
i wonder if it is the subframe? Do the '04 M3s have the subframe issue?

Check the production date of the car (driver's side door), if it's an early production (first half of 2004) then I would be worried about the subframe issue. Whatever you do, get a PPI (pre purchase inspection) at a dealer or someone who knows BMWs well. $21K is a good price if it got no issues.

If there's any doubt in your mind about it, don't do it. There are plenty of M3s in the world. Don't jump on one that might be a money pit.

I had the SAME FRACKING problem with Carfax. After an autocheck a few months ago, I found out the SAME FREAKING THING. Frame damage or not, it was listed very clearly on the autocheck.
F@#K carfax. |

If I were you, I walk away instantly, I don't want to deal with the guy who raised the price after having sub frame checked out, there are plenty M3 out there, be patient and you will find a good one with good price.
