Eonon D5150 Screen Startup Problem

I've searched everywhere and I seem to be the only one with this issue.

The unit worked flawlessly for the first 8 months (give or take). As of late, everytime I start the car, I would just get a blank white screen with some hissing from the speakers. (as seen in the video)

Resetting the unit by pressing the reset button solves the issue, but it gets old and annoying since I have to do it every single time I start the car.

I'm running stock speakers and have an RCA cable connected to the unit which is connected to an amp which runs a 10inch subwoofer.

Hi YoSH_Meister1, sorry for any inconvenience. Don't worry, we are trying best to provide help. Firstly please make sure the power supply is stable enough. If possible, you can disconnect and reconnect the power plug for a try. Meanwhile, I will check with our technician and PM you the details.

I pulled the unit and made sure that all the connections in the back were securely connected. Turned the unit back on and I was having the same problem.

I sent a PM with my order number. Thanks for the quick reply.

Quick Update:

After back and forth emails with the technicians at Eonon, They emailed me an "MCU" file to update my radio. I've installed the file via SD card on the GPS slot and it updated (did the screen calibration etc). Unfortunately, I'm still having the same problem everytime I start the car. Emailed the technician back with the same problem and they just told me to reinstall the software again.

I'm starting to think that this is a HARDWARE issue rather than a software issue.

Will provide further updates on how this problem will be solved.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? I seriously can't be the only one.

Hi YoSH_Meister1, in fact, the 2 software files are not the same. We just sent you email again with the MCU file. Please kindly try it, and we will help you further with the feedback.

I guess I'll turn this into a log page just in case this problem might pop up for anyone else.

Updated MCU and APP file from files emailed to me from Eonon

This is after the MCU file and APP file have been updated. It appears to be getting worse. This is what I have to deal with everytime I start my car.

Just packed and sent in the headunit earlier today (7/13/2015) for replacement. Lets see how long this takes.

Hi, I appear to be having exactly the same problem, it started a week ago and I have checked and double checked all of the connections. I am also running stock Harmon kardon speakers. Please advise.

No response from Eonon, they were unable to help me with the mirror link (doesn't work with my Samsung s3/s5 or my business s5 mini) and unable to help me with the ipod support (fails to recognise my ipod classic, or a 5th or 6th gen nano). Have uploaded a pic of what the screen was doing, however now I have no picture at all, just a very strange moving smudge of pixels which I shall upload a video of once I have figured out how to shrink the file size.

Very unhappy with Eonon and the service I have received, along with the lack of any response. Can anyone help?
