Great set of instructions - well done! I am considering this install: http://www.gpstar.de/pdf/GPStar_Einb..._Universal.pdf and was wondering if you might know - is there the required clearance of 35 mm in the area above the centre vents or will there be some modification required?

I couldn't say as I never measured but you could check quite quickly by just removing your stereo, stereo & AC bracket and then centre vent.

What did you do about the VIN number? Isn't that part of the dashboard? Did you take it off your old dash, then put it on the 'new' one?

Just wondering...My bottom coin compartment that has the lighter in was jammed today. I filled the compartment with too many coins which caused the mechanism to get jammed. To free the mechanism, I gave the sides of the dashboard where the footwell is a good beating with the palm of my hand, causing the whole dashboard to shake. Could I have damaged the dashboard in any way? i.e. causing the dashboard to move out of place or deform it or causing any internal clips to crack? Could this cause any squeecks or rattles when driving due to the abuse the dashboard recieved?

After a few beatings the coins moved to the side, causing the flap to open again.

doubtful, I would say no, and thats an ashtray not a coin holder (probably why it was able to be jammed)
