My Ride: some hooptie
Anyone have any hookups on home theater receivers?

This is probably a shot in the dark, but as the title states, does anyone here have any hook-ups on receivers? Any best buy/circuit city employees here preferably someone from socal...

I sold my receiver thinking I was going to use the live.com cashback, well as many of you know the discount expired and I am not too excited about dropping 1k on a receiver right now. If anyone has any hookups, leme know. I will obviously kick back some $

Thanks

I know a guy who bought a truck load of electronics from circuit city, probably find a few receivers in there.

You can check on ebay, Harman Kardon sells factory refurb receivers (and everything else under the Harman Audio umbrella like JBL, Infinity, etc) on auction. You can find some deals on there if you swoop at the right time.

glockman: thanks bro, but I am not really looking for high end... I am specifically considering a midrange denon (2809ci) or pioneer elite (vsx-01)

i have a sony 7.1 receiver that i would sell probably. it's a year old but it was higher end for sony a year ago. i think it was $1100 new at the time. i'm moving next week and dont really care to ship it. they still sell them refurb'd at sony. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665089952 i only used it for 6 months. it's been sitting in my closet for 6 month since.

also for reference, places like best buy and circuit city don't really have a high margin in home theatre, my budy works and best buy and new, the margin in my receiver was $90. if you go to sony style they will automatically give you 10% off anything if you ask. so i got it at sony style instead, speakers, thats a whole different story. they have like 60% in those.

really? damn I thought their margins are much greater than that. It doesnt help that bb actually charges $100 MORE than retail for the vsx-01, i seriously don't now what they are smoking. Fock, I guess i am off to ebay!
