Help: Removing the Cowel

I'm trying to replace the cowel on my 330i and I seem to have hit a snag. I removed the plastic caps at the base of the windshield wipers and then unscrewed the exposed nut; but the wipers won't come off. Am I missing something that holds them down?

The car is sitting hood-open in my garage now. I'd definately appriciate any help as soon as possible.

Yep. Did that search myself before I bothered starting a new thread. Most of them are hunting for one, asking if it's normal to wear, and asking what it's called. The one related to removing it said:

"Pop the round cap things off the arms, then remove the arms with a socket wrench, then pop the plastic piece off"

Which I had figured out before checking here, The problem remains, with the "round cap things" off, and the nuts that were under them removed with a socket wrench, the wiper arms don't appear to be budging.

This worked for me... please be careful with this though so you don't break the windshield....

Once you have the caps off, you can tilt the wipers up (where they bend) and wiggle them back and forth while turning them towards roof of the car... rotating from the cowl towards the top of the windshield. Mine worked loose and then came off pretty easy after getting them to move some.

Good luck man.

Some use a small puller for this job; but I did learn from a windshield installer all he did was after remove the nut from the wiper arm; he just keep pressing down the middle of the wiper (the spring) 10 time or more and the wiper arm will pop up.
