Man, I hate to find out about his passing this way... He was as witty and charming in real life as he was in his many performances. Ran into him a few times in LA, once at a popular restaurant where he was as gracious with the inevitable tourists and gawkers as any human being could possibly be... It's probably been ten years or so since we spoke to him, before his health started to be an issue. We are all poorer for his passing: Godspeed, Gene, say hi to Gilda for us...
