Hitting 100k

It finally happened on the way to work, I've done basic maintenance on her but I'm sure there's pulleys or belts that I should be changing, any suggestions ?

What's your entire maintenance history?

Belts will show signs of wear. Pulleys will squeak/squeal/etc. Those signs will tell you to change those parts, if not then wait.

Well @ 92,000 I changed timing belt, fan clutch, smog pump, windshield pump. I had someone look inside and he said that a pulley needed to be changed but ehh I didn't really pay attention to him, should I check on it and she squeaks from all four when I drive in the alley

E46's don't have a timing belt.

A local shop once tried to bill a girl I knew for a new rear differential. On a front wheel drive car.

If you have an automatic transmission, and haven't done it already, you should change the transmission oil (per BMW) at 100K miles.

This post really makes you sound like you have no idea what's even under the hood of your car.

Maybe describe what your basic maintenance includes. I would almost surely change your expansion tank if you haven't already. The drain/fill and filter of your transmission is also a good idea.

Or should I just sell it and buy another car, I'm a little OCD about the miles and 6 digits bother me

Hitting 100k

You need to take it to a reputable shop that you trust to get things squared away, or get rid of it. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but from your post you don't seem like a mechanically inclined individual, nor someone that really cares about the details under the hood. That combination is going to make this a very expensive and painful car for you as it gets older.... Of course your post could be misleading and I'm off base...

Edit: if you decide to hang on for the ride you need to do the following ASAP: water pump, expansion tank, pulleys and tensioner, tstat and hoses.

That being said I am OCD about noises and maintenance, and mine has 170k and runs great, but it has not been a maintenance free drop off for an oil change kind of car....

because not only do these cars not have timing belts, but 98% of 6 cylinders in general do not have timing belts, therefore we have drawn our own conclusions regarding your automotive knowledge.

a more accurate account of what has been replaced, or better yet, a post purchase PPI, would be very helpful here, if you want to keep it.

I hit 100k in my touring about 5 months ago. Just last week, I hit 100k with my Ci, the funny thing is that both cars hit the 100k mark within a mile of each other at the same place on the highway.

this, or "main drive" if you wanna sound more important. and the other belt is the ac belt. both of these can be changed in under an hour. in your car, id replace the belts and the pulleys/tensioners as well.

these cars use timing chains like most 6 cylinders, and they typically do not require service until very high mileage.

Don't let miles deter you. After looking at numerous E46s prior to buying mine, I can't tell you how many low mileage examples I looked at that were complete garbage. Unless there are some major underlying issues you know of id say fix it up and enjoy it.
