Better than stock - how so? Is there something in particular you feel you need to improve upon?

Stock is going to be quiet and easiest for daily driving. UUC puts out a nice kit, and you can go with JB Racing flywheels. They'll offer some performance, but your trade off will be noise and a stiffer clutch. Just depends on what you want.

If your car is stock or even slightly modified, the stock clutch is more than suffice. I run a stock clutch in my 330 and can go a season on one. Remember, make sure you get the correct clutch centering tool. If you buy the clutch kit from the dealer (or an online retailer) it comes with everything you need except for the centering tool. Follow the instructions on how to install the clutch and you'll be fine.
So far, my personal record for changing a clutch as the track is 45 minutes (this is with a helper) and 75 all by myself.

The stock clutch is actually pretty stout. I've been using it in my turbocharged 330ci for nearly 2 years. My car puts out ~300rwft-lbs of torque and 315rwhp. So a naturally aspirated engine should let the clutch last a good long time.

hmm ok maybe i'll reconsider, i dont want any noise from the tranny and the stock clutch is fine and i have no complaints, but i drive a little aggressive and was just wondering if there was other clutch kits that would better fit my drving habits.
and... MRSHELLEY, your clutch must take a hell of a beating and if u say its good, then i should probably stick with it Last edited by CUS330CI; 01-20-2009 at 02:29 PM. |

I can second that. I've been running the stock clutch with my TS for close to a year with no problems and it's making numbers similar to Nick's turbo.
