license plate bulb installed......but cover bothers me!

Anyway..but I was wondering.. if there is any way to get rid of those black thing...on the cover...

It is covering my entire half of the bulb..
if it wasn't there, it can be a lot more brighter!

yeah I tried but, I was afraid of scratching it...: (

I noticed that to when I just upgraded to a set of bulbs that had more LEDs and put out more light. Scraping it off would be very tedious. It's annoying because it does block light, but my LEDs are so bright it lights up the road still.

I feel your pain, I just used a sharp edge and scratched off the black part.

yeah.. after I get out of work today..

I am planning on doing that unless someone comes up with good idea lol

has anyone tried pointing the LEDs up into the reflecting part? I'd be interested to see how that looks as well.

There is a reflecting part????

You could try rubbing alcohol on the black portion also and see what happens.

not exactly alcohol, but I tried those finger nail thing remover,, however u call it. didn't work...

But I did it!!


I just took dremel and grinded that black part.. and it looks a lot better.

I would say 2x brighter than what it was,,

Sorry guys could not take the picture...my car is so dirty.. it snows everyday...

I was wondering the same thing. I tried scraping it off my old covers but it made it look ugly. I have a brand new set of covers and i've been meaning to try some kind of chemical but forgot

Thx for the tip, I used my dremel also. But instead of taking off all the black I only took off 1/2. Leaving the portion towards the street black, this way the LED does not glare out past my bumper as much!
