330xi center diff

The X3 is reputed to have a limited slip center diff. As the X3 is based on the E46 3 series cars, does anybody know if an X3 transmission with a limited slip center diff bolt into a 330xi? thanks, Steve

Unfortunately it's too bad that so little is known about the BMW AWD systems. Most of the community knowledge comes from BMW motorsports related stuff and with the AWD cars not being used in motorsports, the info is almost non-existent.

My Ride: things that go fast.
it cant. it doesnt have the logic to run the VTG module.

its not just a limited slip, its a ball/ramp design that is run by an electric motor. its controled by VTG, which is tied into the car via CAN bus.

no you cant retrofit it.
