Search for pictures of installed AEs and you'll see a few users here who have stock halogens with AEs, including me. Doesn't really matter anymore, since you got the answer.

You certainly can, either our CCFL or LED kit will work directly with your factory headlights.

Or this from the rear 3/4 and sides:

Or this from the side (note dark side markers and grill not applicable unless you have an M3).

Here are some very prominent cars that have had our parts installed:

Some customer comments:
For 5+ years, we've led innovation on angel eyes and continued to support these products and improve upon existing technology of the day. Predator Orion V2 continues our innovation standard. And, yes, our product does do the talking:

I also have seen the V1 in person and the V2 is possibly 50% brighter, its that good.

I like the way they are thicker and feel less fragile. Installation was a breeze.
I highly recommend these bad boys!

The Orion V2 is the brightest set and they turn on when you unlock the car.

The customer's quotes above do all the convincing

CCFL Angel Eyes have (2) Ballasts/Inverters that are the weak link in the system. They are very susceptible to cold, moisture, and vibration.

Since you live in Michigan, just get one of the LED based sets. You will be much happier long term, trust me.

They all fit standard halogen headlights fine as show in this picture...

CCFLs are also an older technology. LEDs will be brighter, more reliable and the newest setup available.

Orion V2 is indestructible. It's the last and only set you'll ever buy and you'll never have issues.

The 60 LED angel eyes will more than likely outlast the car as they have a 100,000+ Hour lifetime and work with Halogen and Xenon/Adaptive lights.

Let alone if anything does happen, at least you have a great warranty with us as it's backed by a LIFETIME warranty any problems? Give us a call and we'll replace it. It's nice having that kind of ability to feel comfortable with a product. There's nothing worse than having a kit that will not work, for those that have purchased other kits elsewhere and have dealt with frustrating return processed or no warranty at all, we feel your pain. eas backs up all aurora angel eye kits with a limited lifetime warranty, making this the first and last set you will purchase for your BMW. if you should ever experience a problem with your kit, we will be there to help.

I don't have a picture of these on halogen at the moment, but here's what the angel eyes look like:
