2.93 Diff

So I've installed a lower diff ratio diff and I'm selling a 2.93 diff from a manual e46 328Ci (2000). It is in perfect working condition and I'm willing to let it go for cheap!

All reasonable offers will be entertained.

Melbourne buyers preferred.

Cheers.

I'm willing to let this go for $150. Great mod for someone who wants to increase their fuel mileage (lower revs)

haha, I like your persistence! I've got one too, if anyone's after 2 of them!

So how do you like the 3.38??

Haha! The 3.38 was everything I was expecting. I'm very happy with it-my fuel milage even improved. My AFE was even better, I was amazed at how much more oomph it gave!

I'm thinking of putting on a quiet exhaust. Did you get more gains from your ECIS or your exhaust?

Hard to say because I put them both on at practically the same time. In theory I'd have to say the exhaust will add more power especially if it's particularly free flowing like mine (high-flow cats, etc), but the ECIS induction noise is great too. They work well together.

What sort of exhaust are you looking at?

I'm looking for a quiet duel piping exhaust. Perhaps just a plain old 330ci one. I have a feeling a good intake will give better gains than an exhaust on our cars because of the restricted intake manifold and tiny stock airbox. When I removed the airbox, I realised how tiny it was. Clearly designed to limit power.

Quick update: Put on the 330ci exhaust with custom dual 2 1/4"piping. It sounds great - quiet when cruising, burble down low and when I open her up she sounds like a proper euro sports car (read: refined and a touch raspiness). Performance wise, there is definitely an increase in the upper rev range.

Conclusion - this mod was good, I'd do it again. Out of the mods I've done I'd rank this up there with the 3.38 diff swap and AFE CAI which were both great bang for your bucks mods.

That ends my mod list for this e46. I am now happy with it.
