Supercharger question
Would running a blower at around 8.5 psi drastically reduce the life of an engine or would it only make it wear a little faster, obviously not being red lined 50 times a day and being properly maintained. Also just out of curiosity, which engine would be able to handle more, the m52 or m54? Is there any difference in the internals? Thanks

as far as internals, the 2.8L and 3.0L i believe have forged cranks which would be better.

you wont see 8 psi on a centri supercharger until you hit redline..
in most everyday conditions, @ passing speeds 4-5psi is what I hit,with the smaller pulley, I notice I boosts earlier and compared to getting 3-4 psi at wide open throttle, I get 4-5 early and it builds.. you can have a 9.5psi pulley, and never hit 9.5psi ever...(prob hit it, burning out and spinning your tires in first..:p the first time you unleash it) but for passing i prob got 1psi more between 3.5-4.5k rpm so its really up to you how long the motor will last..
