OEM ZCP brake pads?
What do you guys think? I have a 2005 Competition package M3. I am gonna do some HPDEs this season. How do you think the OEM brake pads would perform under track conditions, considering the Competition Pkg rotors? I already ordered a set of Hawk HP+ but just curious what you think.

Depends on how hard you drive - how experienced are you? Have you done HPDEs before? If you're a rookie, the Hawks will do you just fine for the first few times out.

I've done several HPDEs. I've used the HP+ before and they'll be fine for what i do. I was more curious about how the OEM pads would perform given the Comp Pkg.

I see. I personally haven't had experience with the comp package brakes. However, I know a couple of guys that have done the swap on their non-comp pkg M3s and run different pads because they were having heat issues with the OEM bits...

I would just use the HP+ Pads.

I use a set of HT-10s for the track for the front rotors and stock pads for the rear. I noticed that the rear wheel had chunks of debris stuck to the wheel, most likely due to the heat... I'm not sure how this effects braking but I would get matching HT-10s for my rear...
But to answer your question, it really depends on what type of track you're at and how you drive the car. I'm sure OEM pads would be fine but they will heat up fast.

I've used the HP+ before and found them to be fine for the tracks I run and the way I drive. I run mostly Blackhawk Farms in South Beloit IL and Road America in Elkhart Lake WI. I wanted a pad I could run on the street for a few days/weeks before and after an event with no worries.
