Yeah, my mom was the same. Shot plenty of guns cause she grew up in idaho, but tells me I shouldn't be interested in guns.

Me: hey dad I'm buying some guns ok.
Dad: Why do you need guns?
Me: Because they're fun to shoot and useful in a home defense scenario, not to mention It's my right.
Dad: Well ok in that case can I shoot them too?
Me: Of course

And now my dad likes guns, heck he's even considering getting some handguns

It's a lot easier for newbs like miles to put the red dot on the target than it is to line up sights.

Hmm that seems good, I'm not sure about the quality at that price point. Usually the good stuff is 2-4x that price, but it shouldn't be a problem holding the POA with a .22

Like every time I bring it up my dad will just go "you shouldn't be interested in guns because blah blah blah (by this point I just tune out because I stopped caring)

and that's why guns are on my long list of things to buy when I am living on my own

Like, we've gone shooting before (at the lake, just a simple "go to a private section and shoot") but every time I've had to prod him into doing it

The G36 is a great gun, surprisingly heavy but whatevs

Sig is meh IMO, then again I basically hate most guns (read as assault rifles) used by the US. I despise the M16 with a fiery passion that consumes my soul, the m4 is ok but what under-used
