Both of those guns are actually kinda heavy. A benelli M2 shotgun is 6.7 pounds, a daniels defense m4 is 6.2 pounds, the G36K is 7.6 pounds and the SIG 556 is 8.2 lbs. I wonder where all the weight comes from?

Technically, you can have those items without it being illegal and without being a cop, but you there are various loopholes you have to jump through.

Sig's Sig 522 (.22lr version of 556) is one of the best guns in it's class. Check out the review below.

Even with the folding stock, I'm pretty sure it's CA legal. Just get a dealer who actually knows the laws (many do not). As long as it still meets the minimum overall length while folded, it should still be legal.

It's funny, really. If you have lived in CA before 2000, and have pre-ban hi-cap magazines that don't say LEO-only, you cannot be harassed. There is no law against finding hi-cap magazines, is there?

if you've owned highcap mags before 2000, you can have them no matter what they look like, as long as you own the same amount you did before the ban.

But you're not talking about legally acquiring them. You're talking about illegally acquiring them and then lying to the point where you hope that a prosecutor cannot prove that they are illegal.

Plus, for example, the gun I currently shoot was only made 3 years ago and other guns like the Glock 36 (which I want) were made after the ban was in place.

In 2000, I was 15. While it's feasible I had an oracle of a grandfather who had the foresight to gift me a stock of hicaps so that 10 years later I could purchase a gun and use them, convincing 12 peers might be difficult.

If I were to go to the range with a 36rnd glock hicap, there is a decent chance that I may get some questions from a leo who's shooting next to me. even more than that, I'd LOVE to have 30rnd .22 mags but tactical .22s already draw attention because they have the "dangerous" features.

I'd love to buy my GF a highcap for her new gun but any scenario involves me coaching her to lie carefully to law enforcement, so that if anything ever happens we can pay an attorney tons of cash to not see a day in court
