This ad hails from the early 1990s. Just how old are you, Briangle?

Not me. That LT1 sounds nice but I'm a little surprised they're not pushing out better numbers than that

Then it was the other Dangle. The LT1 sounds nice, good numbers I think. You forget, those are the projected numbers for the REGULAR corvette, who knows what will happen when they make a souped up version

Yeah, but luckily the guy has a case, especially since he has pictures of before/after the change

A C63 AMG puts out 451 hp from its 6.2L. And that's the detuned version of that engine. Granted they'll put out more HiPo variants but its still a Corvette. It should be fast no matter what engine lol

It will be fast, and the HO versions will certainly be great. The C6R has been running this engine all year in American Le Mans and are leading. Current car manufacturers (especially those who are making heavy HP cars) certainly know the ways to tune their engines, with there being so much tech in current cars all it takes is a change in the computer management to turn that 450 hp to whatever you want to spend. And I bet with this new corvette headers/heads will still be a great way to add even more HP

Lies. The C7 was speculated to get the C6R's 5.5L. The LT1 is a 6.2L.

As far as I was aware while only 5.5L the block and engine itself was using some of the tech used on the new LT1.

Nah, the C6R has essentially a NA version of the LS9 that runs a smaller stroke and a bit of an overbore. By the sound of it, not much is new with the LT1 besides direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and an optional dry sump.

Ahh

But still, decent numbers out of the new motor I think. 450 hp isn't bad for the basic corvette...I am now wondering how the handling will be. I mean super basic but the corvette as of late has been pretty decent. How awesome would it be if they said "fvck comfort we are going back to the C4 ZR1 suspension"

That'll give Clarkson something new to complain about.
