Matt is coming over in an hour to help me.

For anyone who has taken their fan off, is the tension on the nut because of the belt? aka, I found a wrench that MAY work, but just slipping it on there it eemed to just pin the nut since there was no tension on the belt.

Can't get the belt back onto the pulley. When I took it off the bolts holding the pulley on were half backed out (by themselves) and I just took em out and let the pulley fly. Looks like I need to get the fan off so that I can get to the tensioner. I'm either towing it to a shop tomorrow, or taking the day off of work to do it myself.
This is the serpentine belt, right?
You don't need to remove the fan. Make sure you are routing the belt properly first.

This is how it should be routed (S54 above, but M54 is equivalent).

Leave the belt loose between water pump, tensioner, and crank. Using the ratchet you're going to use to move the pulley, pull the belt towards the tensioner, move the pulley, and slip the belt into place.
