that facility was going to be massive. Full road racing course, drag strip (with capability of 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile, and dirt track, and multiple dirt trails for atv's/dirt bikes

Yup, that's exactly what I was getting at, and part of the reason for the 190E instead of just getting a newer and more complete car.

That's not to say the E46 M3 isn't fun; it's relative. I'd take one over an E92 M3 on that basis easily.
As for completeness, I guess it's nice having climate control. The E92 isn't going to give me anything more that I want in that department either.

Any time a major project like that is thought of hippies will come from everywhere to complain....I/everyone in Merced was basically pissed because that facility would have brought a ton of profit/jobs to Merced

How can you say that? The only time the 190E will get you from one place to another is if it's being pushed by people.

But on a serious note, there is something to be said about those qualities that bore people to death. Things like reliability. We want that in people, and we want that in cars. What good is a cool car if it's in a perpetual state of disrepair? Like I told a former friend once, "You're not going to impress anyone with your BMW on jackstands."

Well some cars just can't help (i.e. Alfa's, or any old British car)

However a certain part I think comes down to the look of the car itself. There are certainly cars I would love to own just the body for; those poster cars. At least with some old cars that break down/have reliability issues are usually nice to look at when you're waiting for a tow
