I got the scooter working. It needed a new speed controller. The factory wiring is garbage and doesn't correlate to the wiring diagram at all. As a result it runs, but doesn't charge, the lights don't work yet, and it doesn't need a key anymore

I also pulled off my headlights and have been swapping my halos. I managed to break a tab off of my bezel though so I glued it and its drying till the morning.

I think he's a good deal more halal than all of the people you mentioned, but that's not saying much at all.
