Kinda disappointing, but makes sense why Mercedes-Benz is making the CLA front wheel drive. The 4 wheel drive version is particularly disappointing, since it runs on the same concept as a Honda CR-V. Rear wheels aren't even used unless the front loses grip.

A little sad, but a sign of the times.

I guess a transverse engine with attached transaxle is just really compact, really rigid, uses the least pieces, and is the cheapest. It's really just that battle to save a few hundred dollars on the cost to make the car I think.

Cost, more cabin space, you know, things that look good on paper.
