Then I skipped back to the part where there aren't any rungs and he's just free climbing the side of the scaffolding.

They are able to hook every few steps but they don't do it. Regardless of having the capability to do so - time, money and effort make it impractical for them to do it.

Lets say as a kid, you rode a scooter without helmet. And I now ride a motorcycle without a helmet, at faster speeds and on the freeway. I own a helmet that I keep in my backpack but don't wear it. I'd still argue the latter is more dangerous.

A helmet that I don't wear is as safe as a helmet I don't own.
I guess it comes down to me simply not being as afraid of heights as you or albee.

Well, unless I momentarily slip or lose my balance, then I get really afraid for a little bit.

I am definitely a wuss when it comes to heights, no argument there

But I was just objecting specifically to the point that what that guys doing is safer because of the safety hook. Bottom line is during the entire time they are actively climbing, if they fall, they are done. With the exception of the first 20 feet or so

LOL. Reminds me of when cats are quick to run up trees or high ledges, then spend 10 minutes looking towards the ground figuring out how they are going to get down.

Next time you and albeee come up, we can all go in my vert. But one of you will have to sit on the other's lap. I'll let you flip for who gets to be the bottom.

I think the safety hook makes it safer than no safety hook.

lol, yeah, going down is much worst than going up for me. Unless I have rope and then I get to all like "YEAHHHHHH, I'm like SWAT or some sht!"
