elite autobody or m1 autobody. Had work done at both with good results

Alright guys, my lazy as$ is finally getting around to fixing my car! I'm pretty sure its the fuel pump and I am just about to order it, but wanted to do some final checks.

- I cannot hear the fuel pump prime when in position 1 (or 2) whichever is right before ignition.
- fuses in engine bay seem fine, Its a pain in the a$$ to get to the ones behind the glovebox, any special tips? i have the glovebox out and all.
- car cranks fine (power wise) starters clicking, but no start.
- when it initially happened it would start rough and die, then die faster the next time, then faster, until it would not start at all.
- what problems would a bad ignition switch give me? Fuel filter? (haven't switched it in, well forever.) but will do it with the fuel pump.
- should I go to autozone and get our fuel pressure tester and hook it to the shrader on the rail? I am looking for about 50 psi right?

- should I just order the damn fuel pump!? lol i found a great price on one.

KALIM.......heeeeeeeellllllllp.

heres what i did to confirm it was the fuel pump:

spray some carb cleaner into the intake and see if the car is actually able to start up or you notice it turning over more than usual.

Chad, you can try what Daron suggested to see if it'll crank a little stronger. Sounds a lot like something's up with the fuel pump if you don't hear it prime, though.
Only way to know for sure it's not electrical is to test for battery voltage right at the fuel pump connector. That'll eliminate fuses, relay, etc. IMO, that's more worthwhile to check than to test fuel pressure because if you can't hear it, it's not turning on.

word. i suggest instead of looking for the fuse, just get a multimeter, and check if you get power to the pump.

Chad, i think you should cut out the top portion of your sig (where you see the fence/sidewalk, etc) and use the forum color for that, and make it so the rest of the car is like popping out.

if ya know what i mean...
