Is it worth the time to fix?
7-8 years? New laptops are twice as fast and powerful for half the money

I use a $270 compaq laptop from staples
It dances circles around my previous asus laptop that was $700+ in terms of performance
Been using it like 1.5 years now
When it craps out i will just buy a new one

lol, dude, you have no idea how many HPs I've had to fix because of thermal issues. The fan is probably clogged to hell. I would replace the thermal grease on the heatsink, too.

Also, the power connector on the motherboard loses its connection on the motherboard on quite a few models. Has to be soldered back into place.

well that's the one i'm on right now. but the other one i bought a few months ago is like 2 years old. haha. In hindsight i shoulda bought a new computer but w/e.
