The amount of calories you take in does not mean ****, you know that right? Its the kinds of calories you take in. Good Calories. Bad Calories. Not to mention turkey is not the best source of protein, and is loaded with Omega-6 (pro-inflammatory) Albeit turkey is still fine as long as its fresh (not some oscar meyer packaged crap) and better than taking in any source of grains (better throw away that bun) but fresh grass fed ground beef/steak is waaaay better than turkey, loaded with tons of protein, and Omega-3 (Anti-inflammatory). With grass fed beef don't shy away from the high fat cuts. (Fat does NOT make you fat, do the research. Google:Gary Taubes / Robb Wolf) Fat and protein have the highest satiety factors of any nutrient. You will satisfy your body and will not need to eat nearly as much. (Don't buy into the 3-5 meals a day myth. It sells a lot of food, and that is the only reason its ever been pushed by the fitness/food industry. The "thermogeneic eating response" has been debunked countless times). If your going to buy the fresh meats at your local Vons and if they don't have grass fed cuts stay closer to the leaner cuts, but still don't shy away from the fats. The grain fed animal fats store some more toxins inside the fat cells more so than grass fed but its still better than taking in grains directly, and again you will satisfy your body with tons of nutrients from fresh meat. The way our bodies are adapted to by evolution.

I touched on the grains thing but if you want to know more about how grains are terrible for you (The toxins and some of the "proteins" in them attack our gut system. Although don't get caught up in the whole "Gluten Free" fad. Its not just gluten) Google: Ancestral diet / Primal living / Robb Wolf )

No. Its a common myth. Obviously calories taken in from eating candy, and calories from fresh grass fed steak are two completely different things. Arguing otherwise would be tantamount to just wearing a sign saying "I dont know **** about real food nutrition". No offense with that last part lol I'm just making an example.

no
you said how many calories taken in does not mean sh.. and it only matters what kind of calories you take in
you are so wrong
calorie = calorie
you take in extra 3500ish calories per week with your "good for you" calories and see what happens
you will gain a pound
calories matter

In regards to weight loss, counting calories like that is not going to do **** while eating "healthy whole grains", cereals and other frankenfoods. Eat clean real foods and actually move off your ass and you can eat 3,000 calories from fresh protein sources and fats every day, you will not gain weight. (We evolved eating nothing but animal proteins and fats with some leafy vegetables and roots & tuber type foods, our ancestors were not overweight sad pathetic and sick dying animals like we are today. Oh and please stay away from the "but our ancestors lived horribly short lives" argument. They died younger because they lived in austere environments surrounded by dangerous animals and obstacles)

3500 calories extra throughout a whole WEEK is nothing for a clean intake and someone with even just moderate movement efficiency. But I digress because yes I am talking about someone with a clean primal diet. I take in tons of calories from fresh sources of proteins and fats and do not gain weight. When I was on a standard low fat, high grain bullshit diet fed to us by the media I couldn't drop a damn thing back when I was 18 with significant exercise. Once I cut out all the franken foods and grains and upped my fat intake and protein intake, bam it all melted off. If you sit on your ass all day and take in huge amounts of calories yes, past a certain threshold it will make you gain weight, but much less so on a clean diet (no grains, processed foods and sugar)
