Yes, I'd say wiring is the hardest part. The mechanical stuff is very doable (thank you, BMW). My thread is about as close as you'll get to a DIY so far. I only skipped over stuff that's already documented, like pulling a motor.
Ok that makes sense. I remember his TS3 build thread way back. Is he still using his 330 supersprint exhaust with his new S54? I loved how OEM that TS3 looked though.

Yeah I just don't have enough tools to drop/pull the motor or complete the rear end swap. I was planning on trying to get the wiring harnesss done (if this is possible) and other stuff swapped over that I could. Maybe like the fuel pump... get the clutch pedal in etc... and just take it to the shop to have the motor dropped/rear end swapped? Maybe not even have them fire anything up.. just swap over the big mechaincal parts... then tow it back so I can finish up the rest lol. What sorts of things do you think a shop could cut corners on that I should probably consider doing myself?

Yep, he worked pretty closely with ESS to develop that kit.
Right now the car has no exhaust. I think he was trying to do something like I planned originally, which was keeping M3 section 1 (and maybe section 2) but welding the non-M muffler on.

If that's the issue, I would only have the shop remove the motor+trans assembly and bolt the new one in without attaching anything. The rear end can always be done later.
Honestly, though, if you have a garage, just buy an engine hoist and load leveler for $200 and DIY.

Haha must be loud. Why don't you guys cut out the spare tire well and weld in the M3 one? and just run the m3 exhaust? That's what I want to do kinda... but I want to move the tips from the center out towards the ends of the m-tech 2. Shouldn't be to hard on a muffler like the supersprint race or the Milltek v2 muffler... or some other aftermarket m3 mufflers.

Yeah I was thinking about that too... maybe. I'm just afraid I don't have enough "know how" to get this thing done. I swear like I just do basic DIY's like changing my oil or brakes and stuff. And thats with Hieu helping me.

It's definitely not cool, but you take it very personally. Kinda want to see just how bad it is.

Yeah, I started mine up the same way and even drove it to the exhaust shop like that, lol.
Want to keep the well and not hack the chassis up. There are options for mt2 quads. That's where I'm headed next.

Nothing like trial by fire! lol

Yeah I know I have looked at those before too. I want to get rid of my wheel well so it doesn't matter to me and I always wanted to run the M3 exhaust.

Yup! lol We'll see got some time to talk to some shops... bug you some more... think about it as I'm dreaming. I'm gonna try to save up all this year and set out to do this next summer. Then I'll have like 2 months to try to tackle it all. I just have no idea where I would store the salvaged m3... maybe just strip it for parts and discard the chassis.

Once I get an idea in my head. I start obsessing about it. I can't stop thinking about the m3 swap.

Not taking it personally, but they're all over the place so definitely unavoidable. It's different for everyone. Like France, for example. I met the nicest, most courteous and helpful locals. No rude Frenchmen anywhere. And the women are fantastic.
