$20k for the V10 swap is believable. Costs less than half that to do an S54 swap.

Ebay prices aren't that great. All of the S54s I've bought have had fewer miles and cost much less. You can get a whole wrecked M3 parts car these days for $5kish.

I assume if I want the engine/tranny to be ok that the rear end/subframe will be trashed right? (unless it was totalled for like a severe hail storm or something. )

I was planning on just buying the m3 rear subframe and install then the m3 parts car later. Good plan?

yeah i know. but they are rare and that makes them cool. 15x8.5 et-10 they need bigger tires really bad. Ill get that soon hopefully i can sell the current tires as they are virtually new.

Yes, you'll most likely be sourcing at least one corner of the suspension from elsewhere. It's rare to have everything intact, but there are odd occasions when an interior gets stripped, a tree falls on a car, etc.

Yeah, that's what I did. It's easier that way since they're separate projects.

nice. makes sense new cars because they have larger resale are less likely to get salvaged? so an e46m3 will be more common than an e9x e6x
