well since i have nothing to do right now. here is what me and john did 2 days ago. out of random spare parts that we have, we made an HID flashlight lol. normally these cost like $150+, ours = $0. it's not as bright since we used an 8000k bulb (again, only parts that we don't need were used).

***NOTE: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS LOL***

flashlight powered by a cigarette lighter plug (that's right, this **** works in your car LOL):

took and old HID ballast and electrical tape the **** out of it to the flashlight:

wired up a nice switch for it:

and it is connected to a portable battery jumper that has a cigarette lighter plug. the yellow cloth is to keep the 2 jumper ends from touching each other in the backpack lol:

this is how you look when you have it (ghost busters style FTMFW):

how it looks fired up:

well it was like 2pm, so i didn't get any night shots. but it's pretty f'in bright for an 8000k bulb. definitely brighter than any regular flashlight you can buy anyways. we'll redo it some day to like 3000k or something

wow jer, i just got back from a party and wrote up a list of shiet i need from lowes to get this lip installed, and i have an empty can of great stuff that my dad told me to pick up tomorrow. also getting some brass tubing to use as a foundation and running some bolts with nuts at the ends to secure the lip, then using small wood screws to secure the ends and i should be good to go
