1. come hang out in the YMWDLOM thread and learn about buying clothes and shoes that tend to be more classic and conservative style (except maybe all the cordovan leather boots the other guys have been buying lately)
YMWDLOM stands for "young men who dress like old men"
i learned what i know by hanging out on Styleforum.net but that place is a too out there ... people nitpick about the stupidest things and they spend a lot more money
YMWDLOM brings it a lot closer to the realistic range
you can also dig up the Style Thread and see a lot of the progression that i made over the past year and a half ... i have a lot of failed outfits that i posted up as well

2. get in better shape
i made a big change in my physical appearance and health before i started upgrading my wardrobe
if you do this, everything will look better on you no matter what you wear

3. find a good tailor and stick with him
a good tailor for your clothing will be like having a kalim around for e46's
Great advice

BB makes suits that fit super slim off the rack to ones that fit like a potato sack

and often times, brands make a diffusion line (lesser quality, hurried production) to sell through those sites ... sometimes they are just leftover stock
thus why I haven't jumped the gun even when i could afford it. Usually those that site sells either the fitzgerald or madison 1818 cuts

not because i became some hot model stuff ... far from it
but you can see that i made huge progress from where i started

Thanks......

I just remember being a tiny little 145lb kid when I joined the marines at 19. I gained about 25lbs in boot camp and have maintained that weight for the last 15 years........ so it has been a little disheartening to gain another 25 + lbs lately.......

I am inclined to agree on the cuts, the fitzgerald just fits my frame a lot better but I haven't pulled the trigger or will not for some time probably

if the fitzgerald is a good cut for you, $500 is a good deal
do they have any solid navy or solid gray?
patterns and other colors are easy to get on discount from BB store .. like after christmas
so no need to order through ruelala
solid staples like navy, gray, charcoal are less likely to go on sale

As I recall is mostly stripped patterns, if they had a vested solid I would have been tempted...to do nothing

My Ride: is totaled
so i have BofA and Chase checking accounts
BofA is my main and Chase is just there
usually keep a little money in there and use the debit card 5x a month for free monthly checking
and sometimes it's convenient to have more than one bank so i can avoid ATM fees since i have more ATM choices

anyway
earlier today i deposited $1000 cash in my chase because i was going to order my laptop
and then i decided i'm also going to order a new lens from amazon using a 10% off code
i have $1076.52 in my chase account ... and i need $1087 or so to make both purchases right now

i was about to drive over to the ATM and make another deposit ... then i realized i can just stay home and write myself a check from BofA and deposit by mobile app to my chase

i am brilliant! and so lazy

you want a 3-piece? nice
i might get a 3-piece suit next time

i actually have a navy pinstripe from brooks brothers in the milano cut
the suit would look much better as a 3-piece
not sure if i can find a vest to match... or i can probably have one made
but eh.. not a high priority

oh and why don't i just use my BofA to order? the reason why my previous lenovo order got canceled was because i forgot that i had changed my billing address to my friend's address
so i changed it back on friday .. but i got security alert from BofA saying to make the address change in writing by letter or call them during business hours
because my address was changed recently
...
don't want to wait til tomorrow so i will just write myself a check

I've always liked the three piece look, so versatile as well
