Speaking of Chinese food, had some awesome chow mein (hand shaved noodles + beef) last night with Dru at a restaurant near his place.
I may take Albasaur and Frankenbeans there this weekend.

You have to say them with an angry Japanese accent.

2 things i'm tired of:

fancy mexican
fancy italian

the foods that american associate with them are of the poor people from those countries and then they go and charge you fillet mignon prices for noodles and tomatos, or a breaded green chili.
and they suck, you try to fancy up these foods you ruin them.

i went to that new italian at the spectrum, had a honey eggplant pizza with a side of veg. the veg tasted like a fruit rollup and the pizza tasted more like a dessert.

So waisis, though. lol. They were really confused when a brown guy and a Chinese guy walked in. They normally cater to both since it's a halal restaurant, but usually a group is either a really Chinese or really South Asian.
Waiter wasn't sure whether or not to take chopsticks and give us forks at first.
Then he tried asking if I wanted something (guessing some sort of roti), but neither Dru or I knew what he was on about.

But yeah, the food was excellent. Free soft serve, ftw, too.

what is fancy mexican? The best mexican food comes from your friends mom/grandma/wife or a taco cart

We had the Europrojektz group dinner there and it seemed to meet with approval, so you may actually not completely hate it.
