when did BofA raise its checking account monthly fee to $12-14?
holy cow
luckily i have enough money in it to avoid the fees but .. damn... i remember the fees being like $6 not too long ago

of course you can get around fees by setting up direct deposit or maintaining a certain balance

Mine doesn't. Well I have a credit union. But they never charge me anything, no minimum balance etc. I've been with them since college, 2001

Credit unions are good like that. As for banks, usually if you have a savings account piggyback to he checking, the fees should be waved. Or, if you know your teller well enough, she might just make it into a student checking.

which credit union? name them
if i can get free ATM access at any 7-11, i can go for that

but yeah
BofA is pretty much everywhere
i also have Chase to cover when there isn't a BofA around

they changed it depending on the account i think. the cheapest one is 8 i think
