does thw autozone battery have the vent tube??? You need that so the battery gases can be vented outside the car.

I've given up trying to figure this out. The battery in my 02 vert is fine (no idea if it's original or not) but when it's time comes, I'm going OEM without thinking twice. Given how finicky the electronics are in these cars, it's just not worth the risk to me.

And yes, us vert people are special. That's why we really should our own section (like the special ///M3 people have) but the mods don't seem to think that's warranted.

Anyone have a diagram, or can take a photo of the battery tie down system,
I need to see if I am missing parts and the OEM.com diagram just shows a tray?
thanks

I don't know if the long screw to the rear of the battery connects to anything (this is the battery the PO put in) but here's a view of the tie-downs.

Is it a 94R-DLG that I need? My battery died today.

When I do a search on Autozone, it doesn't find a battery for my car.

Thanks, Fran!

I'm sure Fran would thank you, too, if he ever answered anyone!

My vert battery seems to be hurting in this cold weather. The Autozone 94R-DLG costs $140, which seems steep. How much does the OEM battery cost?

Way more than $140 to be exact! $227.90 from my local stealership as of 2:56 EST today!

The other issue for me is that the OEM's don't last . I store my car in the winter and use a battery tender on it, still doesn't last me more than a few years.

Will keep you posted on how long the Autozone lasts for me.

Getbmwparts.com has it for $172 but I don't believe they ship batteries. Freight would be a bit expensive
