Mine had the same problem. It is gone now as I sold it. Your idle is too low and yes that will definitely cause that oil light. You said you cleaned the ICV you may need to replace it all together. I was told by a mechanic something is causing the drop in idle. Could be ICV, Fuel Filter, fuel pump, I was even told a check valve in the oil filter housing could be it. I know I have read a lot about this and I know anyone with a GT1 software can change the idle by .50 at a time. example 700 RPM's to 750 RPM's. And mine would only do it after I drove it out on the freeway at high speeds. Driving around town it never came on. Almost like when the car was well warmed up. I also changed the oil sending unit, no change, oil filter housing gasket, no change. So basically the car is idled to low to turn the oil pump as it should be turning. Hope this helps somewhat and anyone else help the guy if you can. Get the idle corrected and the oil light will go away.

Get an OBDII tool that can read Live/Real Time data. Check and post warm idle Fuel Trim values.

I just purchased a 325ci and it does the same thing. Any solution for this problem? What could be the reason? Which part needs to be changed?

Read the first 3 links below in my signature, pretty much answers most of the questions.

When you buy a 10 year old car, time to start replacing parts! If it is rubber and under the hood, it is time to replace all of the rubber items!

jfoj, I found your very informative posts before I read this thread. Thank you for all those! I was just wondering what Dryhuot did for his car first in order to fix this problem.

But anyway, I have couple cooling problems currently, I've started with water pump, thermostat, expansion tank and fan clutch already.

does the check engine light come on when you have the engine off with key in position 2?

I had a bouncing RPM issue which eventually caused the car to stall during braking, but almost guaranteed during braking while cornering. it ended up from what I could tell oil coating and fouling 2 of the spark plugs. they were very wet.
