I know .308's, not AK's.

What are you using it for? The gist anyway is if you are not looking into doing long-range shooting (over 400yd whether for sport or whatever) take a look at Savage for price and decent quality, or Sako if you want to spend a bit more. If you want long range accuracy and an excellent weapon system, go for Accuracy International. Get an Arctic Warfare in .308 and you are set for life.

Depends what you are using it for. For recreational/target practice and fun, I would go for the .308. I love the feel of a .308. The AK gets boring after awhile and the accessories are limited. You obviously use Glocks for home defense, so you don't need the AK for that.

There you go buddy.

How much do you want to spend on the AK? If alot buy Chinese or Russian, if a little buy a GP WASR 10/63.

Given what you have already, go .308. You don't have something for long range work, whereas the AK is more or less in the AR range. .308 is just a whole different kind of shooting if you ask me.

Buy an AIAW like I said since you don't have much for very long range. Practice and the gun will group 4" @ 1000 yards.

Look into a tikka t3 tactical man, they are extremely accurate out of the box and look great. I think they are the best buy for about the 1k-1.3k area.

Tikka is good as well.

I'd still recommend the savage. Look at the 10 series. You can get one nicely equipped for 1k. The accutrigger is simply stunning.

LULZ @ teh AWP/AWM

I wish I had that gun in real life. You know, in on of the resident evils, I think, a cop has an AWP and is shooting zombie's heads off with it while hiding behind a store sign on the roof.

I have heard excellent things about the savage 10, remington 700 and tikka t3, you cant go wrong with either imo.

Seriously, it's been played out in games but in RL it's an excellent firearm.

.308 Tactical Rifle. You need a long ranger for fun.

Maybe something like a Remington 700. Maybe a Milspec 5R model(don't know if they still make it these days). Remington 700s are popular and within your price range. Lots of accessory available.

Personally I wasn't a fan of the remington 700. To be fair I shot my buddies and I only put maybe 30 rounds down range, but I didn't like the trigger and it just didn't feel right. YMMV.
