First off, thanks for all the input everyone
I was lucky enough to hear several different setups earlier this week and really loved the sound of the Rogue Ikon exhaust. I also think that the Super Sprint might be a bit loud for my taste so I'm gonna wait to see if I can find a good deal on an Ikon setup. I'm not happy with how it sounds right now but it's bearable and def is not so bad when I'm in the car and the windows are up & music is playing. It's just that occasional rasp at WOT that bounces back at me that bothers me and hopefully the new exhaust and maybe down the road High Flow cats will resolve it. Also, my check engine light was gone for 3 days after you reset it Stu, only to just come on this morning Looks like I might look into those relays or software this spring...sometime before my emissions inspection needs to get done!Guess coilovers/suspension will have to wait til this summer

Keep it clean

Software won't get you through emissions. CEL must come on at a ready state. With ESS software, it doesn't illuminate. You won't pass. Ask me how I know. Look into O2 sims.

I just had my headers installed today and got a really bad leak on one of them. Trader-nas is sending me a replacement on Monday but I'm out to cost of ceramic coating and the install :-(

If he sent you faulty headers then he should pay for the cost of the reinstall or at least a removal fee of some kind and def for the cost of the ceramic coating IMO.

TX only allows one non-continuous monitor to be not ready and still pass (on 2001 and newer cars). IIRC, the ESS cat delete software results in 2 NRs. The ESS cat delete software is intended for off road use only, they're not trying to help people skirt emissions laws. Don't know what AA does or what your local requirements to pass inspection are.

Just curious here, but what exactly is "rasp"? I worked at a BMW dealership for a while, and drove plenty a E46 M3 (notorious for rasp) and a few modified E46 3ers...
I could never ascertain what exactly the rasp was...

You're right, that rasp is horrible. Definitely get rid of it!

it can get annoying...imagine driving a car that sounds like an M3 constantly climbing a mountain...

Then again, on my current car I ran for about three months with an open downpipe and it never bothered me. I'm weird like that.

It's is not just at WOT, I've been noticing it more and more when I am speeding up from a standstill and esp when the engine is cold. I also don't find the tone throughout to be bad but the high pitched rattling raspy sound is not pleasant and it isn't like the videos shown. I'll try to get some better video this week.

So all these ebay headers work the same, I saw one for about 75-80 bucks and 40 for shipping, is this for real? I mean real performance gains for under 150? If so, I'm thinking about getting an AA catback and doing this performance mod and cutting my cats!
