so i put in a sub...
This past weekend i put a Memphis Audio M3 sub in a box i built for this trunk, as well as an Alpine MRP-M350 class D mono amp its puttin out 350 RMS wired at 2 ohms and 700 peak so it gets the job done nicely (IMO) at powering 1 12" sub and then I hid the sub volume control knob in the console. Oh and the box doesnt actually stick as far into the trunk as it looks like its even with where the larger part of the seat folds down on the side of the trunk and it sits up off the floor a little bit so i can still get to my spare tire anytime i need to. I would say i retained about 85% of my trunks functionality. What does everyone think?

you did a pretty good job at fitting a square peg in a round hole, if it was grey it would look better but not too shabby, how does it sound?

Cool. A couple things though...
A) Why didn't you use carpet that matched? You could get it for cheap at any stereo shop. I'm sure they would of thrown you a couple yards. B) Why mount the amp there? It's right by the battery, not worried about interference huh? |

i'm not going to lie. sick setup. I'm sure it sounds amazing when you blast alanis morissette. Anyway, I agree you should get similar carpet on the sub to match the rest of the trunk

Here, something a bit more complex, but still simplistic and functional: |

looks good OP, am going to do mine but am in no rush,.. agreed with location of amp, looks like you have room beside the sub, save some room, plus nice and tucked away.

the carpet on that box is actually almost an exact match to the color of the carpet in the trunk just didnt show very well in the pics believe it or not. also no i havent had any problems with inerference with the amp in anyway. The functionality of my trunk and the ability to fold the seats down to put bigger stuff in was first and foresmost, but your system does look better and what not.

it sounds great by the way it hits super lows in a rap song or whatever but it still has the range to get some pretty high notes for a 12 in a rock song or anything like that

I'll have to take your word for whether the carpet matches cuz in the pic it just doesn't.
![]() With that said, you did a very clean install and still have a usable trunk and spare. Looks good man.
