Feeler: Rear Bilstein HD Shocks

I have two used rear Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks that I wanted to see if anyone was interested in. I put these on my car when my old shocks went, but later decided to lower the car and switched over to Bilstein Sport shocks instead (which are designed to be used with lowering kits). These shocks will fit on any E46 model except M3s and all-wheel drive (XI) models, according to the Bilstein fitment guide. They are designed to replace factory shocks and would be good for someone currently running stock ride height that simply would prefer superior suspension, although I suppose you could still use them on a lowered car if you wanted.

These are very lightly used - I only put about 6-7k miles on them before I swapped, and from my understanding these should be good for at least another 80k miles or so. I'd ask for $100 shipped (down from $130) anywhere in the continental U.S., or, if you're local, I suppose we could work out an arrangement for less if you picked them up.

The tire rack pic just gives you a generic example pic of the Bilstein HDs; that picture doesn't necessarily show the particular model that fits our cars. I'm only selling the rear shocks, so you won't be getting the front strut pictured, and you shouldn't need any other washers/bushings like they show in the pic. Neither of my Bilstein shock sets (both these and the sports I later purchased) came with anything else, only the shocks themselves.

I'll check and see if I have the receipt, but I'm not sure I do. I had these installed while I was working at a shop; our wholesale parts supplier just sent them over and one of my mechanics installed them, and I don't think I kept a receipt (since the order was officially through the company, on my behalf). Still, I'll check and see if there's any way I can give you a date of original purchase.

Sorry, I looked through my records and didn't find the receipt for these (although I did find the receipt for my other shocks )

Sorry that I have no way of showing the original purchase date. I guess the only way you could be certain of their quality would be to test them out in person, as they are still nice and stiff when pressed.

Hm, so do you feel any difference between these and the sport shocks? I'm considering buying sport shocks myself for h&r race springs but this is a good deal so lmk what you honestly think.

If you're planning on going a lot lower than stock height and can afford it, I'd actually suggest going with Sports. To my knowledge there's no real difference in stiffness between these and the Sports, the Sports are just a little shorter (and don't extend as much during expansion) in order to accommodate the lowered height. My understanding is that these HDs are good for up to about a 1" drop below stock ride height, but lower than that you really want to use a shock that's specifically designed for significantly lowered cars.

Of course, if you do go a good deal lower and go with Sports, you'll have to get the shocks and struts all at once.

Still, my offer still stands if you decide to go the HD route. I can ship them to you after payment on PayPal, and if you receive them and decide you don't want them you can just ship them back and I'll transfer the payment back (I will ask that you pay shipping back, however).
