Convertible owners? Windscreen

Im thinking about buying a windscreen on ebay. Just wondering if it's easy to install the screen. Can somebody write me a DIY on how to put it on and includes pics if possible....Thanks!

when i bought my 330cic they told me the windscreen fit into the holes just past the door(begining of rear quarter panel?)
just checked; there's a hole(on each side, i guess), midway between the rear window, amybe an inch down. it fits in there.
cause you're going to ask, no i don't have one but i'm thinking about it except i need one to go behind the rear headrests! (2 daughters)

When you get it, it'll be mind-numbingly apparent how it works. Two things flip out on the top and bottom and snap together, slide one side into the hole, retract the other side and stick it in the opposite hole. Then the windscreen flips up.

Yeah, really easy to put in. Put it in the 2 holes, one on each side, then close the top lid on it and you're done.

It makes a HUGE difference. I never really care to have it but girls with long hair riding in the car won't go without it.

As long as we're on the subject, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced aftermarket screen?

(not a threadjack since OP's question has been answered!)

I don't think there is an aftermarket option.

Just keep an eye out on the classifieds here...they pop up pretty frequently.

Matter of fact, I know I saw a thread with one for sale within the last week.

Yep, I saw it a bit too late. I'll probably just post a WTB thread.

This is something every convertible owner should have. It works so well that it makes no sense.

can you have passengers in the back seat when you use the screen? And if so, does it make the turbulence worse for rear seat riders?

You can't sit in the back seat with the screen in. Unless you're about 2 feet tall.....

I love riding without it, but when a girl is in the car, they always complain their hair turns into a mess.....

So once the screen is in place, it's actually a pretty amazing contraption and I'm always surprised by what it does.

Usually you have to increase your volume quite a bit to talk to someone while on the freeway with the top down, but with the screen in place, you can seriously have a normal conversation at 100mph.

Also, you would never try and hold cash in your palm with the top down, right? Well with the screen down, I can hold a bill in my hand at freeway speeds and it doesn't blow away. All that by installing this little screen. It's pretty cool.

Word of caution, make sure the two small locking tabs that go under the back hatch are positioned correctly. I had them misalligned one time and the hatch caught some resistance when closing. Cost around $500 for new motor that drives rear hatch.

Ya. Also make sure the hatch is UP when you try and install or remove the windscreen. Took me a minute to figure that out. Oh, and when you snap the sides in, its a good idea to press the little bar inward so the clips aren't stressed from trying to clamp/unclaimp the bar they are going around.

agreed, the windscreen makes a huge difference. not just for wind and sound, but even in the cold it holds the heater heat in, and when it's hot the a/c.

Personally, I've never understood the point of putting the top down and then installing a device to defeat the experience. A screen came with my car but I've never put it in. Aftermarket stereo >> wind noise.

One word for the ladies: Scrunchy. You probably have one on you anyway.
