you dont need the actual cd changer... I have xm direct and dont have the changer, your Head Unit just needs to have software version 43 or higher ( sat ready) and you need to have the hook up in the back thats it.

Blitzsafe made different adapters that connect to the CD changer cable. One is for when you have a CD changer and another is when you don't have a CD changer. I think the model numbers are SLD-01, SLD-02 or SLD-03. You also need a new headunit.

As long as your radio has a MODE button, your best choice is XMDirect. All post 2000 cars are wired for CD changer (whether you have it or not is up to you). Take off the interior parts (the felt carpeting) on the left side and feel up and around the wheel well, sometimes they are WELL hidden, for a bundle with a 6 and a 12 pin connector. Get the Blitzsafe adapter so you can make the connection, and the XM Direct kit which includes the antenna. When you install it all, Channel 1 will give you a phone number to call to buy your subscription. I recommend not buying more than a 1 year contract since the merger with Sirius may result in alternative pricing packages. They'll tell you how to determine your XM Direct registration number, and after about 5 minutes...you'll have XM.

FYI: There's one for sale on this board on the FS thread showing all the parts. I think his price is WAY too high, but everyone can choose for themself what to sell what they own at whatever price they want. $100 is a fair price.

Good Luck
