Halos and projectors have nothing to do with one another, halos are an after market item added to E46's. Many of the sponsors on this site can help you out if you wish to replace/upgrade the halos that are currently on your car.

If you can see an actual light bulb, then you do not have projectors. Halogen headlights are nothing more than a concave dish inside your headlight with a bulb in the middle (there are 4 . . . two on each side). Projectors on the other hand are convex and smaller. Projectors still have one set of concave headlights (for flash-to-pass purposes on bi-xenon headlights or high-beams on ordinary xenons or projectors w/o xenons).

The halo rings you're talking about are called Angle Eyes and do not come stock on e46s. Sounds like maybe the person that sold you the car installed them.

lol I better give you this: http://amazing-space.stsci.edu/resou...cave_vs_convex

As I said, the rings aren't stock, the former owner added them, you can change them if you want. I don't know who you heard that info from but they're mistaken.

If you have OEM xenon headlights with aftermarket angel eyes installed, you can replace the rings.
